There are presently seven pieces in this sub-series
begining with my great-great grandmother, Eliza Royal and pausing
with my son's daughter, Emma. Each originated as examples of simple
or elaborate ying-yang subdivision of paired disks i.e. out of
one of the principal sculptural investigations which were made
as vinyl inflatables. While developing some of the more attractive
and anthropomorphic of these shapes as plaster sculptures I came
to see that not only could these be seen as a family of forms
but that I was in fact constructing a matriachal lineage. The
four depicted are the only ones so far converted to bronze. For
elaborations see text associated with 5 examples, Life
Sculpture.
